Remember last year when washed-up country music icon Hank Williams Jr. did the impossible and shocked the morons on Fox and Friends by comparing President Obama to Hitler in a rambling interview that caused even conservatives to wonder “Why is this idiot on a “news” show?” Remember how that comparison cost Old Hank his main job of the last 20 years,
yelling “singing” like an drunken redneck to open the Monday Night Football broadcasts? Remember how xenophobic racists with a poor understanding of the concept of “freedom of speech” rushed to Junior’s defense, claiming censorship?
Or are you reading this thinking to yourself 1) Who? and 2) Why do I care?
Either way, that outpouring of racist love re-energized his career, leading to a new album that is sure to be the soundtrack of the summer at Klan rallies everywhere. Rolling Stone for some reason saw fit to publish an interview with this country icon, and Hank used the opportunity to show us all that everyone has the right to their own ignorant opinions.
You know, we’ve got a President that does a call to the Koran or Mecca or whatever. That’s what I meant. That’s exactly what I meant. I won’t be changing my name to whatever. That’s exactly what I meant.
If I was at my office and I could get to my Internet and list the things like where our economy is – you don’t want to go there with me. I mean, the guy is the worst. Giveaway programs, hates America in the first place, forget about the flag. [Imitates Obama] “That‘s one of those big rich fat cats that makes $35,000 a year,” you know what I mean? Oh yeah.
Well, what‘s wrong with going out, playing golf and trying to have a conversation and trying to understand each other?Well, I’ll tell you what’s wrong with it. The other side forgot they won the election. Come on. This president? Give me a break. Give me a break. I notice there hasn’t been not one of those [golf games] since that day. They kind of forgot, “Oh boy, we’re all big buddies.” They kind of forgot that after that game. That was a huge boo-boo. Huge boo-boo.
Why do you think he hates America?
We have borrowed ourselves into our poor grandchildren. Now my opinion has gone down. It was pretty low to start with. It’s really gone down since then. I mean, there’s a whole lot of us out here, we flip the tube off when that guy comes on. We’re not listening and we ain’t watching.
Yeah but, why do you think he hates America?
Oh, you know I don’t know. I don’t know about that but it’s kind of obvious. I guess when you take a tour, a world tour, to apologize for America. He did that, you know?
You know, normally when you read an interview with a celebrity that deals with politics, the celebrity tries to sound at least the slightest bit informed. This sounds like an exec from the record label handed him a list of buzzwords that would drum up album sales from those with sub-70 IQ’s. Hank Williams Jr. makes Ted fucking Nugent sound like an intellectual. I’m honestly surprised the album isn’t titled “Obama’s Black, and That Ain’t White.”
Hank has every right to his ignorant opinions. If he wants to believe Obama is a Kenyan Muslim Nazi Socialist who Hates America, more power to him.
The only proper response to this is to just point and laugh.
