On a Roll, How About a “Wait….What? of the Day?

Thanks to Ed Brayton from Dispatches from the Culture Wars for this gem from Alan Keyes:

Though bad for the people he claims to represent, Santorum’s withdrawal exactly serves the purposes of the GOP elites he has dutifully served in the past. The GOP’s RINO, crypto-socialist elites can now proceed with the coronation of their pre-selected champion. The way is clear for them to use the prospect of Mitt Romney’s inevitable triumph to discourage the voters who reject his socialist, pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage agenda from further participation in the GOP primary process. Meanwhile, Santorum waits in the wings for the moment when he may be called back to the stage to act the part of Judas-goat, playing “Sarah Palin to Romney’s John McCain.”

Sadly I predicted and fully expected what Rick Santorum has done. But when I think of the people who go on buying into the elite manipulated sham he dutifully represents, I cannot tell which is the greater shame – his betrayal of them, or their repeated betrayal of the things they profess to believe. Why do they keep casting before swine the lustrous miracle God works within their hearts? Why do they keep bestowing it upon people who consistently betray God’s work time and time and time again? I know they fear defeat and greater suffering. Yet I also know that many of them profess faith that leads them to look to God for hope. But as the Apostle said, “We rejoice in our suffering, knowing that suffering produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope. …” (Romans 5:3-4)

That is some serious batshit insanity there.

Game On!

In case you’re not following the news of the evening, a quick recap: Santorum won both Mississippi and Alabama, Romney once again showed how loved he is in the south, and Newt vowed to remain in the race, proving either that he is delusional, or attempting to cock-block Santorum for Romney’s benefit.

Am I the only one enjoying the hell out of this?

Rick “Man-on-Dog” Santorum is a serious candidate.  Mitt “Just get it over with already” Romney, the front runner for the nomination, finished 3rd in both states.  Conspiracy theories abound over Newts refusal to admit that no one wants him to be president.  It’s like a reality show, but one that is actually entertaining and worth watching.  And no reality show has music like this:

The only negative in all of this is that come November, one of these people could actually be President.

If that doesn’t scare the hell out of you, you are either not paying attention or blinded by partisanship.

Your “Wait, What?” For Sunday

Via Wonkette:

“He’s not blown and tossed by the wind of political correctness,”  -Karen Santorum

Oh, come on.  They have to be fucking with us now.  With the slang definition of santorum well known, do they all have a bet as to who can come up with the most inappropriate headline/comment each day?

So Karen, the wind of political correctness doesn’t give Rick any foreplay at all?  No blowing, no tossing, just right into the santorum making?

Definition: Santorum

Pronunciation: san-TOR-um
Function: noun
Etymology:
Savage Love – 05/29/03

1. The frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the by-product of anal sex.

2. Former Senator Rick Santorum

More from the Republican War Against Women

If you thought former(?) hillbilly heroin addict Rush Limbaugh’s attacks on Sandra Fluke for the horrible crime of expressing an opinion while female were nothing but the isolated ravings of a possibly intoxicated, hypocritical right wing propagandist attempting to shock his way back to relevance, well, I admire either your naivety or your faith in humanity.  While a few conservatives have revealed their humanity by repudiating Limbaugh’s vile attacks (John McCain to name one), many others seem too afraid of either Rush himself or his rabidly conservative fan base to offer more than pitiful “wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more, say no more, a nods as good as a wink to a blind bat” response.  (See either the responses of Mitt “not the language I would have used” Romney or Rick “an entertainer can be absurd” Santorum for an example.)  And then there is the third conservative response to Rush’s attacks:  Double down on the batshittery!

Let’s start with Pam “Females can be misogynists to!” Geller. (Trigger Warning: Link goes to Geller’s blog, which could cause rational peoples heads to explode.)

A 30-year-old poses as a 23-year-old, chooses a Catholic University to attend at $65,000 per year, and cannot afford ALL the birth control pills she needs… so she wants the US taxpayers to pay for her rampant sexual activity. By all accounts she is banging it five times a day. She sounds more like a prostitute to me. She must have an gyno bill to choke a horse (pun intended). Calling this whore a slut was a softball.

Obama calls her and tells Sandra Slut Fluke that her parents should be so proud of her.
He’s a pimp.

Is there anyone on the right who actually understands how birth control pills work?  Do they all think you have to take one every time you have sex?  Anyway, maybe the comments to Geller’s post will set her straight.

Sandra Fluke is a slut and I don’t want to pay for her sluttiness. Shame on Rush Limbaugh for apologizing.

….

Anyone that promiscuous is – by definition – a slut.
…and SHE wants ME to pay for HER sexual adventures?

As Pamela Geller warned, “Truth is the new hate speech.”

Rush is right! Not only is she a slut, she is shameless!….Your parents did a really lousy job with you but I’m sure they too are shameless pigs.

Can’t believe how he is being tarred and feathered for describing this woman as promiscuous when she herself had painted herself as such.

She wants $$ for sex…she is a slut…what’s the big deal?…This is part of the Obama attack on Christians (and all traditional institutions in America)…The foot in the door is this slut.

you know what.. I hope fluke gets circumcised totally..

she supports muslims wholeheartedly..

may her clit be sliced to the root..

fuck fluke

Ok, I can’t read anymore of those comments.  Maybe some other right wing blogger has some sanity….

Let’s try Matt Barber of the Liberty Counsel:

But, beyond this assault on religious freedom and the moral implications surrounding the debate, Ms. Fluke has additionally set the true women’s movement back decades. Her public groveling for free contraception and abortifacients reinforces the sexist stereotype that single women can’t survive without welfare. Women’s empowerment? More like patriarchal government dependency.

Well, he didn’t call her a “slut” at least.

Erick Erickson from RedState?

Well of course Rush Limbaugh was being insulting. It is not something I would do, but he was using insult and sarcasm to highlight the absurdity of Sandra Fluke and the left’s position, which in a nut shell is they think you, me, and every other American should pay for them to have sex.

My personal favorite wingnut, Mona Charen?

When the producer asked: “What do you make of Rush Limbaugh’s comments?” I said that his choice of words was crude but that I certainly understood and sympathized with the point he was making.

Dana “Winner: Most Misogynistic Women of 2012” Loesch?

But promiscuity is not the hallmark of a virtuous woman. Is it Limbaugh’s fault for pointing it out or Fluke’s fault for the behavior? It’s a rhetorical question and the answer proved Limbaugh’s entire point.

Or for that matter, virtually every post on http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism

MediaMatters has more examples.  I can’t read anymore of them right now.  A significant portion of this nation has lost its fucking mind.

This isn’t some rogue wingnut.  The right wing has started another war, and this one is against women.  Do not let them spin this away when they realize what a political loser it is.  This is their fight.  They started it, and if you look at what republican state governments are doing, they are not going to drop it.  Speak out, be heard, and vote in November.

Stop the “Wait, What?” Presses!

From the Washington Post, the Gingrich campaign makes my head explode:

At a rally here that attracted dozens of enthusiastic supporters, Gingrich promised to stick in the race saying, “I believe it is going to be impossible for a moderate to win the general election. We tried it in 1996, and it didn’t work. We tried it in 2008, and it didn’t work.”

He renewed criticism of his opponents, saying both Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney are insufficiently conservative and chiding Romney for running a negative campaign.

Campaign aides also brushed off suggestions by supporters of Santorum that Gingrich drop out of the race to allow conservatives to coalesce behind one candidate in opposition to Romney.

“All of the logic being used by the Santorum campaign if simply reversed, it could be used on Rick Santorum,” Hammond said. “We’ll argue, Santorum is splitting Mitt Romney’s moderate vote.”

Santorum is a …………moderate?  Is war now peace?  Freedom now slavery?  Down now up?

I honestly can not believe Gingrich’s spokesman could even say those words without laughing.

Santorum is a moderate.  Whatever Gingrich is smoking, I want some.

Your “Wait, What?” Moment of th….Nah, This is Too Easy…..

Rick Santorum is a serious candidate for the Republican presidential nomination.  In fact, if Newt would have dropped out of the race, Santorum could be winning!  Rick Santorum.  Ol’ Frothy.  Senator Man-on-Dog.  Mr. “Anti-Choice?  Hell, I’m anti-contraceptive!”

The Republican base has lost its fucking mind.

Anyway, from The Answer Sheet in the Washington Post:

“It is a parent’s responsibility to educate their children. It is not the government’s job. We have sort of lost focus here a little bit. Of course, the government wants their hands on your children as fast as they can. That is why I opposed all these early starts and pre-early starts, and early-early starts. They want your children from the womb so they can indoctrinate your children as to what they want them to be. I am against that.”

Because Santorum would never force his views on anyone.  Perish the thought.
